Tenderloin catnip

Petfood longs to be taken
seriously. Understandable
if it was actually ignored,
but it usually has an aisle
almost completely to itself
in most supermarkets. Still,
on a continent surrounded
by seas in which fish are

plentiful, & renowned for
the quality of its livestock,
it feels it should have, if
not pride of place, at least
be displayed somewhere
more conspicuous. It falls
to the pasta to be the voice
of reason. "Humans might

be the ones who buy pet-
food, but they're not the
ones who eat it. Unless, of
course, they're homeless
or extremely poor, & who
wants to be reminded that
that's quite possible in the
climate as it currently is."
