Ding-dong the witch is dead
Which old witch? The wicked witch.
The Wizard of Oz
Life imitates art is a paraphrase of what
Oscar Wilde originally wrote. What he
used as examplar was the London fog,
regarded solely as a nuisance until such
painters as J.M.W. Turner captured its
potential beauty. As a codicil, fifty years
after Wilde, the brothers Gershwin used
art to imitate life imitating art in their
song, A Foggy Day in London Town. Is
said — unverified —that the CIA moni-
tored movies & TV to see the extent of
violence the public would accept. Is
said — verified — that the CIA opened
a liason office so Hollywood could run
their concepts by it to ensure veracity.
Is said the approved outputs are con-
sidered to be excellent recruiting tools,
a spook's promise of life imitating art.
