contemporary fireworks

Bicentennial year; & a one hit wonder
seems to be the anthem of the U.S. Sky
rockets in flight / afternoon delight sang
the Starland Vocal Band, something
about getting your rocks off in the
afternoon. Fast forward fifty years &
pulling a nooner seems to be a thing
of the past. So, too, fireworks; with
most banned in many countries. Now
have to make do with Gilded Arches,
UFC cage fights, & the outcry over the
renaming of the Kennedy Center, a-
longside snaps for bon-bon crackers, 
sparklers, & starting pistol caps. Oh, &
blowing up purported narcoterrorists.
