Scenic homunculi lived along the length
of the Erie Canal. They looked for work
on the barges, did not always find it, were
then forced into their fallback jobs as
osteopaths or speech therapists. Often
mistaken for manatee, or dugong as
they are called by the indigenous Aus-
tralians who had emigrated there to
search for turtles in the lake. As yet,
there are no known songs about them.
