signed in blue ink—
"letter" from the 
Postal Service 
Director herself 
asking me to part-
icipate in an online 
survey about min-
imizing fiscal outlay
by reducing mail 
deliveries to every 
other day of the 
week. Today the
postwoman wore a
black tee on which,
in blue, the message:
morituri te salutant.
