A palindrome

There was a post on Dumbfoundry recently about the death of a Malayalam poet. Malayalam is the language spoken in Kerala State in India, but Malayalam is also the longest single-word palindrome I know of that's used in English. Are there any longer?

i don't know what the longest palindrome is in the english language, but ol' anne sexton liked the sentence

'rats live on no evil star'

think she had published a collection of essays and interviews using that palindrome as its title

The multi-word one I learnt at school was

able was I ere I saw Elba

supposed to have been uttered by Napoleon on starting exile.
