Genji Monogatari XIX: At Writing Practice
She was in a hurry to
be inspired; so, rather
than be bound by the
limitation of words, she
opened two additional
browser windows & used
satellite & aerial imagery
to explore brief snippets
of everything from the
lo-fi aesthetic of classic
reggae 45s through to
Mstislav Rostropovich
playing Bach. Too much
distraction—what she was
after was not conceptual
knowledge but keyholes.
It began to snow. She
watched it for a while &
went outside & wrote
heaven
           天
                      on the pathway.
Then she wept bitterly.
